HOT-COVID for Patients

This trial is an amendment to the HOT-ICU trial, and aims to assess whether a lower level of oxygen in the blood has a beneficial effect for ICU patients with COVID-19 and respiratory failure.

Many COVID-19 patients have reduced lung function. When the lungs ability to absorb oxygen is reduced, you need supplemental oxygen. In this trial we compare a liberal treatment of oxygen (standard treatment) with a more restrictive treatment.
