CRIC office – also hosting a PhD student
Copenhagen Trial Unit (CTU) has employed Cand. Scient. San. Marija Barbateskovic as a PhD student. Marija comes from a 5 year employment at the Cochrane Colorectal Review Group where she has worked as a scientific search coordinator and editorial assistant. In CTU Marija will work with systematic reviews on interventions to be addressed in future trials coordinated, and supported by CRIC: haloperidol or benzodiazepines for treating delirium in the ICU and different oxygenation targets for intensive care patients. Further, Marija will update a systematic review on proton pump inhibitors after the finalization of the SUP-ICU trial which is expected to start randomizing patients after the summer 2015. Marija also aim to investigate possible relations between clinical and statistical heterogeneity in systematic reviews of interventions used in the intensive care setting. As a part of the CRIC secretariat as well Marija will also try to assist in the design of the upcoming trials and implement the knowledge gained from her work with the systematic reviews in the planned protocols. We very much welcome Marija in the CTU and the CRIC and wish her all the luck in the years to come.
